Welcome
to our journey! We have created this site to allow our family and friends
to join us in our experience to adopt our daughter Neve. This has been
a rollercoaster of a ride to becoming parents for the first time. We

Clifford as the second costume
A couple of recent pictures from Halloween 2007 (costume
pics to come) as well as our forever family day.

We had a mini reunion with some of the group members
last weekend, Sarah and Neve attended, it was really great to see the
pictures, the girls are getting so big.

Palmer
just making sure she is still there!

3
Beautiful little ladies (Maya, Neve and Jamie) and 1 mysterious entity,
my theory is we've captured one of their guardian angels!

Some
current pictures, more fun with Stickers from May 2007 as well as an
interesting angle I took when she was sleeping, it is a little out of
focus but Sarah likes this picture.

I
have been a little neglectful at posting recent pictures, for everyone
that follows I apologize. We have been a busy bunch as of late, Neve
spent her first extended stay at her grandparents when Sarah joined
me in Vegas for a few days. She had a blast as expected and came home
unscarred, but likely a little more spoiled than usual. Anyway a couple
of pics, one is Neve and Palmer, her favorite kitty he takes so much
abuse from her and just loves it, the second is one of the candid shots
taken at Jaime and Mike's wedding I didn't get around to posting. Enjoy.

Well
we were off to Mexico - the Mayan Rivera specifically - for my baby
sisters wedding. It was a very large resort, too big in fact but the
wedding was very lovely indeed. The day was perfect, both weather and
everything that goes along with a wedding. Here are a couple of pictures
from the trip.

The
2 families joined together.

Uncle Mike taught
her the above. He was so proud.

Posing
in her winter gear!

Neve like many young children,
enjoys playing with stickers....well it seems she also enjoys inflicting
pain. You see leaving a sticker on the soft part of your face or neck
for 40 minutes results in that said sticker from being very well affixed,
in conjunction with any facial or hair having it very slowly removed
by a nearly 2 hear old is not what I would call a day in the park. Upon
pronouncing "OUCH", our darling Neve proceeds to giggle like
crazy, to the point where she is in capable of continuing her sticking
or removing because she is giggline too hard. Yes highly amusing and
my face looked like I had just shaved with a rusty hacksaw (all blotchy
and red) afterwards. None the less enjoy a coupe of pics from the adventure.

So
you think she was having fun?

And
finally, ever wondered what a nearly 2 year old looks like giggling
so hysterically as she falls over? Sarah managed to catch this shot
as she was falling over. All caused by inflicting pain on her dad....sigh.
I do love to hear the pure innocent sound of a child's laugh.

Sunday December 17th we had
the annual Dougherty Family Christmas. The 2 pictures above are from
the festivities.

October 31, 2006: Today
is Gotcha day. It was 1 year ago that we first laid eyes on Neve in
the flesh at the Changsha Civil Affairs Office and what a year it has
been. A big congratulations and happy gotch day to all the members of
CB Group 224/225.
A picture from October that
had slipped through my mailbox.

celebrate her first Halloween in Canada.

October
14 2006 Update: I have finally resolved the spam issues I have been
experiencing with the guestbook and it has been cleaned up accordingly.
Unfortunately that means all of the entries are the same date...sigh
I guess everything cannot be perfect. Please feel to leave us a note.
HAPPY
THANKSGIVING 2006 and Autumn Moon
As you can imagine having
a 20 month old running around the house leaves things a little hectic
and I apologize for being so lazy at keeping the site updated. Here
are some of the latest pictures in our lives. Neve has learned to say
and use the word "No" in her regular vocabulary, makes for
an interesting day. She is talking up a storm now and seems to change
almost daily.
Today
October 8th also marks the Autumn Moon which is a Chinese holiday, we
attended a Bamboo Bunch get together this evening, see some of the pictures
of the event below. For more information on this important holiday in
the Chinese culture visit Here
